Maitrics vs Tracksuit: survey-based brand tracking or behavioral brand intelligence?

Tracksuit tells you what people say about your brand. Maitrics shows what the market is actually doing about it, and what that means for sales.

They’re different tools, built on different data to answer different questions. Tracksuit is an attitudinal brand tracker: it surveys consumers and reports what they say. Maitrics is the first always-on behavioral brand intelligence that gives you actions, not dashboards — benchmarked against your competitors and connected to actual revenue, to show you what’s moving sales and why.

The short answer: choose Tracksuit if you want survey-based awareness and perception metrics. Choose Maitrics if you need to see how your brand is moving against every competitor, which signals move with your sales, and what to do next, at a price built for challenger brands.

How each one works

Tracksuit: asking people

Tracksuit continuously surveys a nationally representative sample, weighted by age, gender and region. Respondents qualify into your category based on purchase behavior. Results are cleaned, weighted to census counts and published to a dashboard each month, with a first benchmark in around 30 days.

It’s a modern, automated take on the traditional brand tracker, and it answers attitudinal questions well: who knows you, who would consider you, and what they associate with you.

Maitrics: watching the market

Maitrics reads behavioral signals for your brand and every competitor in your set: purchases scanned at retail, searches, site visits, views, mentions, and the media your competitors actually buy. Every signal comes from third-party data partners, so there’s nothing to integrate and nothing to hand over.

Those signals roll up into three clusters, Visibility, Engagement and Reputation, and then into one score: the Brand Momentum Index. 100 is your peer average. Above it, you’re outperforming your competitive set. Below it, you’re behind.

The model then connects that momentum to sales. It connects brand signals to revenue, for the very first time.

Eva turns it all into plain-language answers: what’s happening, what it means for your business, and what to do next.

Where Tracksuit is strong

Tracksuit has earned its place in a lot of marketing stacks. Credit where it’s due:

  • It modernized the brand tracker. Traditional trackers cost $100k+ and arrived as an annual PDF. Tracksuit replaced that with a continuous survey and a monthly dashboard.
  • It’s the go-to for attitudinal metrics. If you need awareness, consideration and preference numbers, a survey is the direct way to get them.
  • Perception depth. Unprompted word associations and brand statements show how people describe you.
  • Audience and media context. Profile and media consumption views help with targeting and channel planning.
  • Scale and support. Tracksuit reports tracking 1,000+ brands, with a dedicated Brand Champion and quarterly check-ins for each customer.

Where Maitrics is different

Most brands can’t tell which half of their marketing is working. Maitrics shows which signals are moving with your sales, so you know where the next dollar should go.

  • Behavior, not attitude. Surveys capture what people say they think. Maitrics measures what the market actually does: searches, visits, purchases, spend, mentions and sentiment.
  • Every channel, including AI. Maitrics covers all marketing activity across Paid, Owned, Earned and Search, including LLM visibility: how your brand shows up when people ask ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity for a recommendation.
  • Evidence your CFO can use. Brand health only matters to a CFO when it connects to commercial outcomes. The Brand Momentum Index comes with an Estimated Sales Impact, so you walk into the budget conversation with evidence behind you.
  • Tested before it ships. In blind tests with sales data hidden, the model forecast a leading condiments brand at roughly 7% weekly error, against naive baselines of 23–30%. If a brand’s model can’t reproduce its own sales history, it doesn’t ship.
  • Your competitors, on the same lens. See competitor spend, share of voice and momentum: who is doubling down, who is pulling back, and the white space nobody has spotted yet.
  • Built for challenger brands. No enterprise contract, no data team required. Setup is strategic alignment, not an IT project: weeks, not quarters.
  • Near-time, not month by month. The picture is there when the decision is.
  • No sample-size ceiling. Behavioral signals aren’t limited by how many people answered a survey, which matters most for smaller brands and niche audiences.
  • One view, not five tools. Visibility, Engagement, Reputation and sales in one picture, instead of stitching together trackers, SEO, PR and social reports.
  • Actions, not dashboards. Eva gives you plain-language answers you can take to your team and your board.

Better together

Different tools do different jobs. Tracksuit tells you how people feel about your brand. Maitrics tells you what’s moving the market, how you compare with every competitor, and what that’s worth in sales.

If you’re choosing where to start, start with behavior. It’s what connects to revenue, it covers every competitor without a survey, and it answers the question your CFO is asking. Attitudinal tracking adds useful color once you need perception depth: word associations, brand statements, survey-based audience profiles.

If you already run a survey tracker, keep it. Maitrics adds the behavioral, competitive and revenue view it can’t give you, and that survey data can feed in as extra context.

Which is right for you?

Choose Tracksuit if you:

  • Need awareness, consideration and preference numbers as your headline brand KPIs
  • Want to understand perceptions and word associations in depth
  • Are planning targeting or media using survey-based audience profiles

Choose Maitrics if you:

  • Need to show your CFO and board how brand investment connects to revenue
  • Want to see competitor spend, share of voice and momentum across your competitive set
  • Want to know which signals are moving with your sales and which are slipping
  • Want to see how your brand shows up in AI assistants
  • Are a challenger brand with a lean team and no data team to run integrations

Choose both when you want the full picture: what consumers say, what the market does, and what it means for sales. Most brands start with Maitrics and add attitudinal tracking as perception questions come up.

Do I need to share my own data with Maitrics?

No. Maitrics runs entirely on independent third-party data. There’s no integration and no IT project.

How current is the data?
